The items found on this blog were written during the past few years and strictly reflect my own opinions. Because these articles deal with difficult issues they are bound to be controversial. They reflect my personal analysis based on the limited information that I have. I am certainly no expert and fully respect different opinions. Difficult issues would not be difficult if there were clear-cut answers. Although you will see in reading some of my material, I don't like being pigeonholed with a label, I will admit to being politically independent with a tendency to be more conservative fiscally and slightly more liberal with regard to social issues. Having lived through the 1940's, I have a great appreciation for the sacrifices made by our armed forces and, in fact, all Americans during World War II. The greatness of this country shone bright as we rehabilitated and rebuilt our enemies after winning that war. I am very patriotic and proud of our country. While we are far from perfect, we're not as far from that ideal as most other countries in the world.

 Stuart’s Thoughts 7/4/2022

THOUGHTS FOR THE 4TH

Although I’ve sworn off political commentary due to its recent disturbing negative nature, I’ll interject one suggestion for those projecting the impending doom of our nation.  Why not get off this current negativity bandwagon.  Forget about what could be called our “civil war of politics”.  In my opinion this is a war promoted by the media with the goal of enhancing their profits.  They are profiting on their ability to foment political discord. I suggest we adopt a brighter more positive stance with the goal of reversing this tailspin to nowhere. It may not be quite as much fun as this latest “civil war” but, surprisingly, it could actually help our struggling nation regain its rightful place.  What is needed is a concerted effort to bring people together.  What we don’t need is to drive them further apart.  We should all use our creativity to put the news media in their proper place of simply reporting the news and do everything we can to achieve unity.  That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t work to defeat policies we disagree with but our efforts could be far brighter for our country if we forget the divisiveness and negativity that is clearly destructive..
