Just Wondering
Why is there even discussion around the existence of God? Do some people still believe that God is actually a “super human” living somewhere up in the clouds? Why do so many waste their time trying to justify atheism? Isn’t God more accurately described as the “God Concept” rather than a flesh and blood humanoid? The statement often heard is that there is no scientific information that suggests that God exists. However, that shouldn’t be a surprise since scientific evidence can only be obtained for things belonging to the material aspect of reality. It seems to me that most believers in God don’t imagine God as an aspect of material reality but rather as a concept created by the human mind which is representative of all that is good and all that is responsible for the creation of everything that exists. God is a spiritual concept arising from the human mind. In this sense God is real, God exists, God is the creator of everything that exists and, in my opinion, God is everything that is good.
Why are we so insistent that devastating climate change is inevitable? This idea was given birth 16 years ago, 2006, in Al Gore’s book, “An Inconvenient Truth”. Climate induced disaster was forecast to destroy us within ten years. This is 2022 and nothing unusual has happened. Yes, climate probably has changed a bit. It has changed dramatically many times throughout the history of the earth and will likely continue this pattern long after humans have done away with themselves. So, if in the past 16 years there has been drastic climate change, why is my home in central Connecticut still hovering between agricultural growing zones 5 and 6? Just wondering. Why does the peak fall color always arrive around the first of October in the trees around Lake Placid? Just wondering. Equally important, if sea levels were going to devastate coastal areas within ten years, Why do the east coast beaches between Cape Cod and Florida, especially Ocean City, NJ, still exist and look like they have since 2006? Just wondering.
